What is in a Now Sports Whey Protein Isolate
The Now Sports Whey Protein Powder I tested is the Isolate creamy chocolate with BCAAs, 25 grams of protein per serving of 33 grams. It contains the following ingredients:
- Whey Protein Isolate: This is a high-quality form of protein that is fast-absorbing and is easily digestible.
- Cocoa: This ingredient is commonly used to add flavor and richness to food and supplements. It is made from the roasted seeds of the cacao tree and is a source of antioxidants and minerals such as iron and magnesium.
- Natural flavors: These are flavors that are derived from natural sources, such as fruits, spices, and herbs, rather than synthetic sources. They are used to enhance the taste and aroma of food and supplements.
- Xanthan gum: This is a common food additive that is used as a thickener, emulsifier, and stabilizer. It helps to improve the texture and consistency of food and supplements.
- Xylitol: This is a natural sugar substitute that is derived from birch wood or corn. It is a low-calorie sweetener that has a similar taste to sugar but with fewer calories and a lower glycemic index.
- Organic stevia leaf extract: This is a natural sweetener that is derived from the leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant. It is a low-calorie sweetener that is often used as a substitute for sugar.
- Sea salt: This is a type of salt that is obtained by evaporating seawater. It contains a variety of minerals that are important for overall health, and is often used as a flavor enhancer in food and supplements.
- Sunflower lecithin: This is a type of fat that is derived from sunflower seeds and is commonly used as an emulsifier in food and supplements. It helps to improve the texture and stability of the product.

Now Sports Whey Protein Isolate Tastiness, Mixability and Price
I tested the chocolate version and I can say that it mixed really well with no lumps. As for the taste, I recognised the cocoa powder and it didn’t feel artificial in any way. Even its sweetness is good as I didn’t find it too sweet!
Regarding the price, you can buy a 1.8 lbs (816g) container for $44 or a 5 lbs (2268g) container for $73. The 1.8 lbs container has 25 servings of 33 grams each which put the serving at $1.76 and 1g of protein at 7 cents.
The container of 5 lbs comes with 69 servings of 33 grams each which give a $1.06 per serving and 4 cents per 1g of protein.
Overall, the Now Sports Whey Protein Isolate is more expensive than other whey powders in the market, but its quality justified somehow its price.

What I liked
- The amount of protein per serving
- The absence of sugar
- The natural flavors
